New this Fall, earn your financial management certificate.

Upon completion of the certificate, students will advance their careers and update skills in making decisions regarding investing, financing and capital management. Through the flexible financial management certificate, students have the choice to complete one, two or up to three courses per semester. The courses will also train students for the sought-after Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.

A certificate will consist of three courses. Certificates are stackable towards a degree (30 credit hours within six years). All courses will be offered afternoons or evenings or with an online option.

The first micro-certificate starts with the below "Level 1 certificate" courses, unless a student has successfully taken the similar course before elsewhere. An online bootcamp course may be needed before beginning level 1.

For Level 1 certificate, students select three courses below:

  • MBAP 405 or FNCE 421 – Financial Management
  • FNCE 429 – Investment Management
  • FNCE 404 – Financial Modeling
  • FNCE 450 – Mergers and Acquisitions

For an Advanced Certificate, students select the remaining course from the Level 1 certificate set of courses, and two courses from a more advanced set of courses below:

  • FNCE 428 – Financial strategy and value creation
  • FNCE 403 – Corporate Financial Technology
  • FNCE 444 – Entrepreneurial Finance

As added benefits, students can participate in the seminar speaker series to gain exposure to leading experts in the finance industry, and in academic speaker series to learn about new developments in finance. Students may also join trek experiences to visit financial firms in major cities throughout the country, or for corporate visits.

Currently, the seminar speaker series and trek experiences are virtual.
