Flourishing Enterprise

Flourishing Enterprise casts the vision that the primary aim of business should be to create well-being, happiness and wholeness. This concept reaches beyond sustainable value to the idea that businesses can be agents of world benefit. Flourishing enterprise argues that companies that do good in the world also do better financially, and that one does not have to sacrifice mission for profit, and vice versa.

The Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit is the epicenter for flourishing enterprise, with projects that utilize Appreciative Inquiry to address the well-being and function of every level of strengths-based leadership, from the individual to the organizational, from the academic to the systemic. The Fowler Center is the home of:

  • AIM2Flourish: a worldwide action-research initiative that uses Appreciative Inquiry to learn more about how business is an agent of world benefit and can be used to address the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (UN Global Goals)
  • Global Forum: a conference created as a massive design studio to enable and inspire individual, team and collective action, most recently held in June 2017
