Digital Futures Conference 2021

Digitalization maturity model

What is the next step in your organization’s digital transformation? How do you get there? How do you stack up against other companies?

xLab, IRI and industry professionals explored these questions October 11 - 14 during the 2021 Digital Futures Conference. Participants worked together to begin to develop a digital transformation maturity model - including the steps to get from one level to the next.

The conference consisted of energizing keynotes, including Professor Youngjin Yoo, faculty director of xLab, followed by concurrent workshops taking on different elements of digital transformation. The goal of each workshop was to develop a set of items companies can use to assess themselves in the maturity model.

This year's conference-the third annual- launched "a global benchmarking of digital-first maturity" among traditional firms. "We were particularly excited that, at this year's Digital Futures Conference, we launched a global research study on digital maturity among established firms in different industries and regions, forming a global industry-academic research partnership network," Yoo said. "We are also pleased to strengthen the strategic partnership with IRI through this global research program." Organizations are changing their products and services to become more digital-ready, embracing digital transformation to change how they engage with their customers and transforming their infrastructure to change how they work, using advanced digital tools such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the internet. Given that evolution, the digital transformation market is expected to reach $3.2 trillion by 2025, according to a recent report from Meticulous Research.

Along with Yoo, scheduled keynote speakers were:
