It powerfully stressed that sustainability can be a key driver for global change and that is something that all of us at Fenton (Communications) push every day. Beau Daane invited to speak at three conferences in Russia
Posted 5.20.11The Fowler Center's Beau Daane was invited by the Russian government to speak on sustainable business practices from the 20th-29th of May. The Tula branch of the Center of Ecological Policy and Culture is sponsoring the sustainable business conference and participants include government leaders like the head of the Parliament Department of the Environment, business, health care and NGO leaders. In addition to speaking in Tula, Beau will also speak at a sustainable business conference in St. Petersburg at the Northwest State Technical University. Beau is excited to deepen Weatherhead relationships with businesses and institutions in Russia.

Plenty, say authors Chris Laszlo (of the Fowler Center) and Nadya Zhexembayeva in their new book, Embedded Sustainability: The Next Big Competitive Advantage. As they point out in a recent article in the European Financial Review, "The linear throw-away economy, in which products and services follow a one-way trajectory from extraction to use and disposal, can no longer be supported, as we are simply running out of things to unearth and place to landfill. Consumers, employees, and investors are beginning to demand socially and environmentally-savvy products without compromise, while radical transparency is putting every company under a microscope."
