David Cooperrider Named Fowler Center Faculty Director
Beginning this month, David Cooperrider, PhD, is returning as faculty director of the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit. Established in 2009, the Fowler Center emerged through a combination of David’s groundbreaking work in Appreciative Inquiry and positive change, and Chuck and Char Fowler’s generous support.

Meet the First Morgenthaler-Pavey Startup Finalists
Six CWRU student- and alumni-led startups have been selected to compete for $50,000 in startup capital and ongoing mentoring from JumpStart. Co-founded by CWRU trustee Bob Pavey to honor his late investment partner and venture capital pioneer, David Morgenthaler, the final round of the startup competition takes place March 15 at Sears think[box] and simulcast to Apartment List in San Francisco.

Michael Goldberg receives third fulbright fellowship
With this grant, Michael Goldberg, assistant professor of design & innovation, hopes to connect the Canary Islands’ entrepreneurial ecosystem with global entrepreneurship networks, and to inspire collaboration between the islands. He was previously awarded Fulbright fellowships to teach entrepreneurship at the National Economics University in Hanoi, Vietnam (2012) and at the Polytechnic in Windhoek, Namibia (2015).

bilimoria teaches class in ethiopia to female police officers
More than 40,000 students from 185 countries worldwide have enrolled in Diana Bilimoria’s MOOC, Women in Leadership: Inspiring Positive Change. And in December, Bilimoria taught elements of the course in Ethiopia to female senior police officers for the United Nations Police (UNPOL). It was the first UNPOL course of its kind, with women in senior policing positions being prepared for UN peacekeeping command roles around the world.

Weatherhead finance students stood out at major regional competitions in 2017, taking home top prizes in Cleveland’s ACG Cup, a case study competition that focuses on mergers and acquisitions, and in an Equity Research Challenge hosted by the CFA Society of Cleveland. Learn More
