Mr. Karl E. Newkirk served as Global Managing Partner of Accenture LLP from 1972 to July 2001. Mr. Newkirk served at Accenture Ltd., from June 1963 to December 2001. He served as a Managing Partner at Accenture Technology Ventures. He served at Arthur Andersen and Andersen Consulting until December 2001 after nearly 40 years of service.
During his tenure at Accenture, Mr. Newkirk initiated and built Accenture's ERP practice in 1994 and served as its Global Managing Partner for six years. He served as the First Managing Partner of Accenture's Microsoft Solutions Organization, a $1 billion joint venture. Mr. Newkirk served in a variety of leadership roles at Accenture and these roles included: Managing Partner of the Process Industries practice in the Midwest region; Managing Partner of the Manufacturing and Retail Practice in the Ohio region; and Managing Partner of the Cleveland Consulting Practice.
Mr. Newkirk also serves as the Vice Chairman of Acero Inc. He has been a Director of I-Many Inc., since February 2002. He serves on the boards of Directors of Flamenco Networks and Acero Inc. Mr. Newkirk served as a Member of the Board of SeeBeyond Technology Corp., from May 2002 to December 2003. He served as a Director of Ariba Inc. from July 2004 to October 1, 2012. He served as a Director of Freemarkets Inc., from August 2003 to July 2004.
Mr. Newkirk has retired to Sarasota, Fl with his wife Ricky, where he remains active in the management of private ventures and real estate development along the harbour.
Mr. Newkirk graduated from Case Institute of Technology with a Degree in Industrial Engineering, and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
