Managing Director, Zelman & Associates

Evan Morgan is a Managing Director with Zelman & Associates, Founded in October 2007, Zelman & Associates, provides analyses across all aspects of the housing spectrum. Previously Evan was President and Chief Executive Officer of Wedge Partners, an institutional brokerage firm focused on technology and Asia. Evan founded Wedge’s China based research business in 2008.

Prior to joining Wedge in 2007, Evan was Vice Chairman of FTN Midwest Securities, a division of FTN Financial and First Horizon Corp. Evan headed that firm’s 35-person Institutional Sales team. He served on FTN Midwest's Executive Committee, Investment Policy Committee, and Investment Banking Commitment Committee. Evan was a founding member of Midwest Research and served as its Chairman and CEO prior to its acquisition by First Tennessee Bank. During his tenure, FTN Midwest and Midwest Research were repeatedly named Best of the Boutiques and Regionals by Institutional Investor Magazine. In addition, the Midwest sales team was named the number one Regional/Boutique sales force for 2004. Midwest Research grew from a 12-person specialty research boutique to a regional firm with close to 200 employees across the country and approaching 100 million in revenues from various lines of business.

Prior to Midwest, Evan was a Vice President in Institutional Sales with Roulston & Co. from 1994 through 1996. Evan worked for Apple Computer, Inc. from 1988 until 1993 in a number of capacities including business planning, dealer channel sales and market development. Evan began his career with Chase Manhattan Bank in their Management Development Program.

Evan has received several professional awards, including recognition in Crain’s Cleveland Business “40 under 40.”

Evan has an A.B. in Economics and History from Columbia University and earned his MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management in 1994. A New York City native, Evan lives in Hudson, Ohio with his wife Carol. They have three children, Danny, Evan and Gracie.
