The competencies for managing others are uniquely different from those required to do the job yourself. These competencies include giving clear information and direction, delegating, facilitating and giving feedback. Effective managers know how and when to apply these approaches to create high-performance relationships with every employee.
Leslie Yerkes, Weatherhead alumna and nationally-recognized consultant, speaker and author, will lead first-time supervisors in developing the necessary tools, skills and judgment for positively influencing others and their performance. Participants will receive a general overview of a supervisory framework, practice key skills for instilling high performance in others, and receive feedback to their specific challenges raised in class.
