Thomas D. Schultz, Ph.D., CPA is an Assistant Professor of Accountancy in the Richard T. Farmer School of Business at Miami University of Ohio.  Tom received his doctoral degree from the School of Accountancy & Information Management at Arizona State University, an M.A.S. from Northern Illinois University, and a B.S.B.A. from Loyola University Chicago.  Tom served as an Assistant Professor of Accountancy at Case’s Weatherhead School of Management from 2003 to 2006.  As a CPA in the State of Illinois, his work experience includes serving on both the audit and tax staffs in the Chicago office of Ernst & Young.   

Dr. Schultz’s current research activities as a faculty member include examining the financial reporting and taxation issues faced by U.S. multinational corporations, such as foreign direct investment, income shifting, and transfer pricing policies.  Tom has also been recognized for excellence in classroom instruction as the recipient of the John W. Teets Outstanding Teaching Award in 2001 and Weatherhead’s Undergraduate Teaching Award for the 2003/4 academic year.
