Dr. Denise Douglas has over 14 years of leadership experience in both private and public higher education institutions. Denise is currently the Associate Dean at the School of Graduate Studies and Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at Case Western Reserve University.
Prior to her role in the School of Graduate Studies, Denise served as Director of Career Planning and Student Life at the Weatherhead School of Management. In this role, Denise was responsible for teaching a core course on career management and providing career coaching for MBA students.
Denise is also the President of Career Spark, LLC a leadership development, coaching, and educational practice. She is certified to deliver and interpret the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI), as well as other leadership and career development assessments. Denise is an executive coach for customized corporate leadership development and coaching education programs through the Weatherhead School of Management.
In June 2009, Denise was awarded the President’s Distinguished Service Award (Case Western Reserve University) and honored with induction into the Who’s Who in Black Cleveland. Other awards and recognition include the YWCA Woman of Professional Excellence (2007), Kaleidoscope Magazine’s 40-40 Club (2007) and selection to attend the prestigious HERS Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education (2005).
Denise holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota. She received her B.A. in English Literature from George Mason University.
