In addition to working on joint research projects with individual faculty,
doctoral students may choose to take advantage of other research opportunities
available both inside and outside of the Weatherhead School. The
Health Systems
Management Center (jointly established with the School of
Medicine) and the University's Mandel
Center for Nonprofit Organizations (jointly established
with the Schools of Applied Social Sciences and Law) facilitate research
and educational relationships with managers in the area's large medical,
industrial and governmental communities. The School also maintains close
ties with the management community. Cleveland has one of the largest
concentrations of corporate headquarters in the country, providing a
setting conducive to managerial research and education. Top managers
from more than 20 leading corporations serve on the school's Visiting
Committee, which provides advice and support to the School. Faculty and
students conduct projects in many of these organizations.
