The aims of the MAPS PhD program are to train students for research/teaching
positions in the academic community so that they can initiate,
contribute to, and pursue a program of research in their chosen
areas of inquiry. The intent of the faculty is to achieve excellence
in the research training and development of students and to
foster an environment that aids students in achieving a national
reputation in identified areas of research competencies.
