Welcome new M.B.A. students
Posted 01/16/2007
With the arrival of a new semester, we welcome more than 30 new evening and Saturday M.B.A. students. At an orientation held on January 13, the new students and their guests enjoyed a breakfast while listening to remarks by Dean Mohan Reddy and Associate Dean Julia Grant. The group also enjoyed an interactive Crack The Case presentation by Scott Fine, finance faculty member. This exercise provided new students and their guests with a practical demonstration of one method of tackling a case study.
An observer of the orientation could not help but be struck by the breadth of backgrounds represented by our incoming students. At one table were two students who held engineering undergraduate degrees, one finance degree (art history minor), a chemistry degree, and a computer science degree. Each also had worked several years prior to entering the program in areas ranging from Web site development to health care and much in between.
Of course, these evening and Saturday M.B.A. students are currently working full-time at many area organizations, including:
FirstEnergy
Parker Hannifin
Diebold
National City Bank
Lubrizol
Philips
Daimler-Chrysler
KeyBank
Forest City
WBS Energy
Welcome evening and Saturday students.
