J.B. Silvers, Eliz. M. and Wm. C. Treuhaft Professor of Health Systems Management and Faculty Director of Health Systems Management was quoted in Crainscleveland.com about the need to show healthcare patients what they are getting for their money.
The research Scott Shane, the A. Malachi Mixon III Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies, has done on genetic factors related to entrepreneurs was highlighted on ABC News.
Ph.D. accounting alumnus, Thomas R. Robinson, is the first American to be able to claim descent from Genghis Khan. Robinson is an associate professor of accounting at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida as noted in the New York Times.
The New Media Consortium (NMC), an international consortium of colleges, universities, and musuems, awarded Case Western Reserve University with the Information Technology Services award recognizing Case's leadership and world-class approach to community-wide collaboration.
John P. Campi, a 1988 MBA graduate of Weatherhead and Joseph M. Mandato, a 2004 EDM graduate of Weatherhead have joined Case's Board of Trustees.
Michel Avital's paper, "From Generative Fit to Generative Capacity: Exploring an Emerging Dimension of Information Systems Fit and Task Performance" won the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) "Best Paper Award."
Economic Times featured Karie Willyerd (EDM '03), Chief Learning Officer for Sun Microsystems, as she builds on human capital with business acumen.
David Cooper awarded a $50,000 grant from the Kauffman Foundation. Cooper's letter of inquiry discussed Entrepreneurial Decision Making on Where to Pursue Funding: Theory and Behavior.
Dale Flowers received a $4000 faculty fellowship from the Joseph M. Juran Center for Leadership in Quality located at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Betty Vandenbosch quoted in the Wall Street Journal discussing MBA programs blending disciplines in order to provide students with the big picture of business.
Richard Boyatzis, Professor of Organizational Behavior, was awarded the Training Excellence Award for Coaching Resonant Leadership in Yourself and Others by the Class of 2005-2006 Humphrey Fellows at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Steve Anderson received word from the AICPA that he was one of the national Sells award winners for receiving one of the ten highest grades among those who successfully completed all four parts of the CPA Exam last year. He is with Howard, Wershbale & Co. in Beechwood. Steve received his BS and Macc degrees in 2005 from Weatherhead.
Susan Helper, SBC Professor of Regional Economic Development, is expected to testify about the efficiency and quality of Delphi Packard’s high-tech plastic injection molding plant in Cortland in the Delphi case.
Ranked #38, Case Western Reserve University leads the list of Ohio schools included among the Best National Universities in the annual U.S. News and World Report's college guide and Weatherhead was ranked #29 in the nation for undergraduate business as reported by the Akron Beacon Journal.
