Weatherhead Student Services Welcomes New Students in Fall Orientations
The Full-Time Student Orientations are in full swing and it is an exciting time for all our incoming students. We have many impressive students across the full-time MBA, MSM-Liberal Arts, MSM-OR/SC, Master of Accountancy, and MNO programs. Throughout orientation, the students will spend a week learning more about their respective programs and getting acquainted with their new colleagues. In addition, a number of guests will speak including Christine Johnson, General Manager of Progressive Corporation, Cindy Frick, Chief People Officer of Dealer Tire, Barbara Nagy, Senior Vice President of Shore Bank Enterprises, and Jack Dannemiller, President of the Jubilee Foundation and Former CEO of Applied Industrial Technologies.
In addition, students will hear from a variety of members of the Weatherhead faculty and staff, experience all that Cleveland has to offer on a lake and river cruise, and learn about each other through several team-building activities within the first few days of their orientation.
The highlight of the full-time orientation remains the day out at Punderson State Park in Geauga County. For the past several years, Weatherhead Student Services have taken new students out to the wooded location to gain a better appreciation of each other and the teamwork necessary to succeed in their programs. The day-long visit involves such activities as constructing a "house" out of every-day materials, and participating in a canoe ride - which always results in a few people spending the rest of their day in damp clothes.
Evening and Saturday MBA Candidates also experience what Weatherhead has to offer in a drier, one-day orientation program on Saturday, August 26th. The day-long program emphasizes team-building in a collegial atmosphere, with important information regarding Weatherhead technology, career development, and a focus on a case study to prepare the students for their classroom experience.
