Meet the New Career Development Center
Posted 08/14/2006
The career services office has now officially been renamed the Career Development Center, and the changes do not stop there. While students were hard at work in their summer internship positions, the Career Development department was undergoing a transformation.
Most significant are the staffing changes in the department, starting with the appointment of Regina Olbinsky as the new Director. Ms. Olbinsky is no stranger to Weatherhead career development, having previously worked with second-year students and alumni as a Career Consultant, and having graduated from Weatherhead herself. Other department changes include the departures of Jill Gibson, through the restructuring process and Lamont Davis, who has resigned in order to return to school full time. Lamont will be attending Ursuline College to complete his public relations degree. We all wish Lamont continued success in his future career endeavors. Recently arrived are J.T. Neuffer, External Relations Manager, and two Career Development Managers, Kimberly Orndorff and Amy Lucal.
With additional staff in place, the Career Development Center is preparing to make great strides in personalizing customer service – connecting successful students to top local and global companies. Information sessions and interview dates with companies such as American Greetings, Booz-Allen, Eaton, FedEx, GE, Harris Williams, McKinsey, National City and Nationwide Insurance have already been set. Students should check the WeRs Calendar to keep track of upcoming events.
A revised website is another marked improvement at the Career Development Center. The new site makes it easier for students, alumni and employers to navigate through the services the Center offers. There are also helpful additions to the site, including information specifically for international students, an in-depth career interest survey for current students and a considerable increase in online career resources. Click here to explore the new site.
As the Weatherhead community gears up for another fast-paced school year, the Career Development Center is ready to stand by their new motto, “Supporting Your Success”. Now it is up to students, alumni and employers to use that support to their advantage.
