Posted 08/09/2006

As we’ve noted throughout our updated and expanded Weatherhead website, Cleveland is a great place to live and work! There is always something going on in the region, from summer art walks to holiday parades and from fall harvest festivals to spring marathons.

Whether you just arrived or lived here your whole life, there is always something new and exciting to do in Northeast Ohio! To help you discover Cleveland and the surrounding areas, Weatherheadlines will periodically showcase upcoming regional events.

To kick off our inaugural Upcoming Cleveland event feature, we’ve chosen to showcase two popular outings:

Cleveland National Air Show
September 2,3, & 4, 2006 (Labor Day Weekend)

Join in the fun at this long-standing Cleveland tradition at Burke Lakefront Airport. Celebrating their 60th anniversary, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Jet Demonstration Team returns to Cleveland with dazzling aerial acrobatics. If that isn’t enough, you can watch the US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team jump from planes and perform complicated formations in the sky. Additional highlights include a flyby of the brand new US Air Force F-22 Raptor, making its first Cleveland National Air Show appearance. Additional highlights include tactical demonstrations and flybys of modern and vintage airplanes, air acrobats, wing walkers, and American barnstormers. You won’t want to miss this thrilling annual Cleveland event!

Wine Tours
Throughout the Fall

It’s almost fall and you know what that means…it’s time to harvest the grapes! Started in the early 1800’s Ohio’s wineries have grown over the years, both in number and reputation. Ohio is currently one of the major wine-producing regions in the United States. And what better way to get to know Ohio’s wine-making industry than by taking a wine tour! You can either join a tour or create one of your own. With wineries located near Cleveland, you won’t have to travel far to experience Ohio’s burgeoning wine industry. Need more info? The Ohio Wine Producers Association has a plethora of information on events held at wineries throughout the state, including daily wine tours, suggesting drives through wine-country, and various wine festivals. Whether you prefer white or red, dry or sweet, Ohio has a wine for you!
