2006 Nat'l Undergrad Business Symposium
Posted 3.15.06The Weatherhead School of Management won the bid to host the 2006 National Undergraduate Business Symposium (NUBS) on Friday, April 7th and Saturday, April 8th on the Case campus.
In 2004, the Weatherhead School of Management won its bid to host the 2006 National Undergraduate Business Symposium (NUBS). The two-day event will take place Friday, April 7th and Saturday, April 8th on the Case campus and at local Cleveland landmarks including the Western Reserve Historical Society and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
Hosting NUBS allows Weatherhead to highlight its undergraduate business programs as well as its culturally diverse community incorporating this year’s theme, “Our Campus Communities: Global, National and Local Outreach.” In keeping with the symposium’s focus Dr. David Cooperrider will serve as Friday evening’s keynote speaker.

Founded in 1992, the National Undergraduate Business Symposium (NUBS) is an informal and collegial association among a small group of leading undergraduate business programs from across the United States. Individual membership in NUBS generally consists of undergraduate Program Directors and faculty leaders, primarily Associate/Assistant Deans, who are responsible for the delivery of high quality undergraduate business programs across the country.
The primary role for NUBS is to bring members together for an annual two-day conference, which is hosted each year by a different member school. The conference is typically held in the Spring, and members discuss common issues and share ideas in order to continually improve each school’s undergraduate program. The collaborative atmosphere and spirit of its members form the foundation of this organization, and the professional friendships gained are valued by all participants of the conference. Institutions wishing to join NUBS should contact the Conference host for information on how to be considered for membership.
In order to promote informal dialog among members and enhance discussion at the yearly conference, NUBS was originally intended to be and remains today a relatively small collection of schools. In addition to the conference, information and ideas are exchanged between members through a variety of media. The NUBS website assists in administering the membership of NUBS, and enhances NUBS’ collective mission by providing a dynamic mechanism for sharing ideas and information online throughout the year.
