Food Drive a Great Success!

Posted 11/11/2005

Students at the Weatherhead School of Management have long been avid supporters of worthwhile causes in the Cleveland community. This past October, they took that support to another level.

As part of their annual Halloween party, Weatherhead students collected food on behalf of the Cleveland Foodbank. Each attendee was asked to bring at least one canned food item. Many students, however, came to the event with full bags of food. The result: 820 pounds of canned food was donated to the Cleveland Foodbank from the Weatherhead School, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday crunch.

"I think this event shows that Weatherhead students can support a good cause while having fun at the same time," said Sam Harpold, a second-year MBA student at Weatherhead and chair of the event.

The tradition of giving back to our community will continue next semester, as Weatherhead's Annual Casino Night will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Marriott at Key Center. More details will follow in upcoming editions of Weatherheadlines.
