Established in 1979, the Health Systems Management Center at Weatherhead carries out research, education and service with special focus on the healthcare industry. The Center has for many years focused on physicians who have a unique boundary-spanning role in health care, not only providing medical care but also serving in management and leadership positions within the system.

The Physician Executive Institute consisting of the Management Core of classes in the fall, and the Leadership Core of classes in the spring, features internationally known faculty who through interactive sessions provide the kind of background and skills physicians need to add to their medical expertise.

Certificates are awarded by the Weatherhead School for completion of the Leadership Core and/or the Management Core. In addition CME credit is available for all sessions.
