We've discovered 10 facts about our new dean, Robert E. Widing II, that you won’t find in the official press release.

Rob Widing...

1. volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army after high school and attended college under the GI Bill
2. is a Buckeye! Dean Widing completed his BA, MBA and PhD in marketing and international business at The Ohio State University
3. majored in history
4. was recognized as a “Top-Ten” marketing researcher in Australasia and Asia by the Journal of Marketing Education
5. has three adult sons with his wife, Judi
6. is a dual citizen of Australia and the U.S., as are Judi and their three children. The Widing family lived in Australia for 15 of the last 20 years!
7. was awarded the Distinguished Marketing Researcher Award--the highest research honor in marketing given by the Australia-New Zealand Marketing Academy
8. is married to a huge Browns fan
9. is originally from Pittsburgh, PA (Guess which football team he roots for!)
10. loves Cleveland, having taught marketing at Weatherhead early in his career from 1988 to 1993
