Operations Club Wins Regional Case Competition

Posted 03/08/2012

Congratulations to members of the Weatherhead Operations Club, who won the APICS Association for Operations Management Mid-Atlantic District student case competition in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on February 10-11. Polaris Min, Sahil Laroya, Wayne Gibson Gnanasiromani, Yuhan Wang, Neeraj Mokha and Debojyoti Saha formed the winning team.

Each year, an APICS chapter on the East Coast, a chapter on the West Coast, and a chapter in the Midwest are chosen to hold a case competition. Student teams are presented with an operations management challenge, and their submissions are evaluated by a panel of judges for their demonstrated command of APICS tools and methodologies. The first-place teams from each regional competition then attend the APICS International Conference and Expo to compete in a conference case competition in which they are eligible for recognition and cash awards.

The American Production and Inventory Control Society, now known as APICS Association for Operations Management, was formed in 1957 in Cleveland.
