In 2000, Scott Shane, PhD, A. Malachi Mixon III Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies, along with S. Venkataraman, PhD, from the Darden School of Business co-authored “The Promise of Entrepreneurship as a Field of Research,” which appeared in the Academy of Management Review.  It was recently announced that Dr. Shane and his co-author are the recipients of the 2010 Academy of Management Review's “Decade Award” which is given to the article published 10 years prior with the greatest impact in terms of citations.

Dr. Shane will be presented with this award at the Academy of Management Review’s editorial review board meeting in Montreal on August 8, 2010.
