Following conversations with leadership donors, Weatherhead’s development team recognized the need for an elite donor society, one that encouraged members to commit to a transformative gift, with manageable annual payments, and acknowledged their significant contributions. Thus, the launch of the Venture Society in 2009.

The Venture Society is based on the belief that when leaders pool their financial resources, they are able to attain lofty goals. With a Venture Society pledge, members agree to donate a leadership gift, payable over three years, thereby aiding Weatherhead in achieving both our short-term and long-term goals. Member Jim Hilyard. M.B.A. ‘70 describes the Venture Society “as a way to make a greater commitment to help [Weatherhead]. I hope by making this gift to encourage more people to give to Weatherhead’s programs.”
