Faculty Co-author Award-Winning Report on Health Policy 

J.B. Silvers, PhD, and Andrew Gallan, PhD, received the 2009 Health Policy Research Award for Independent Scholarship for a report they co-authored with Leona Cuttler, PhD, from the Case School of Medicine entitled "Obesity in Children and Families across Ohio." The award recognizes research that is relevant to health policy in Ohio, and that is carried out by Ohio-based researchers.  It is sponsored by the Health Policy Institute of Ohio (HPIO).Most recently, the results w! ere incorporated into proposed legislation, Healthy Choices for Healthy Children, introduced in Ohio this past November.

Dr. Gary Previts Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award 

The Board of Directors of MUFAD, a Turkish group which organizes national and international activities relating to accounting and finance, has bestowed a Lifetime Achievement Honor on Dr. Gary Previts for his global contributions to accounting history during the last decade.  The award ceremony will take place in fall 2010 in Istanbul.

Fowler Center Director Discusses His New Book 

Roger Saillant, executive director for the Fowler Center for Sustainable Value, was a featured guest on Sea Change radio to talk about his new book, Vapor Trails .  Listen to the complete podcast.  Dr. Saillant also contributed to a WCPN story on zero-waste.

Sustainable Cleveland 2019 Report Available Online 

The official post-summit final report, Building an Economic Engine to Empower a Green City on a Blue Lake from the Sustainable Cleveland 2019 summit that engaged more than 700 individuals this past August is now available for download.
