BusinessWeek recently announced its 2009 rankings for the "Best Part-time MBA Programs" and "Best Executive MBA Programs." Weatherhead's Part-time MBA program placed #14 in the nation. The Executive MBA program ranked #21 worldwide. Among schools in the United States, the Executive MBA program placed #16. Read the complete news release. MBA Channel Lists Weatherhead as One of Fifteen Outstanding "Green" MBAs MBA Channel, a website that links business schools, companies, and prospective students, featured Weatherhead as one of fifteen "green" schools. Weatherhead, which was listed in the mix with Columbia, Yale, Cornell, and the University of Michigan, was profiled as demonstrating a unique strength in Environmental Sustainability. Entrepreneurship Meets Sustainability Roger Saillant, executive director for the Fowler Center for Sustainable Value, will present insights about entrepreneurial startup companies in the fields of renewables and sustainability on December 8 at MIT's Sloan School of Management. Leveraging United Nations Global Compact Membership Learn how to strategically leverage membership in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in an online discussion led by Gavin Power, deputy director of the United Nations Global Compact; Chuck Fowler, CEO of Fairmount Minerals; Christina Vernon Ayers, director, Office for a Healthy Environment, Cleveland Clinic; and Paul Boykas of Pepsi Co. This webinar will offer content for current UNGC members, organizations seeking membership, and those interested in learning more about the UNGC. A main focus of the discussion will be on the business case for membership, with examples of how the UNGC has been a catalyst for advancing sustainability programs and initiatives within organizations. Undergraduate Accounting Major Wins Deloitte & Touche Scholarship Lydia Fields, an undergraduate accounting major, is the recipient of a $5,000 scholarship from Deloitte & Touche. Fields, also a Cleveland Scholarship Programs recipient, was chosen from a group of ten finalists. She has made the Dean's List and is president of the African American Society. Fields is also a member of the coordination team with the Saturday Tutoring Program at Church of the Covenant, and has tutored at John Hay High and Mary Bethune Elementary schools. Weatherhead Undergraduates Compete on a National Level Two select groups of undergraduate students competed this fall at the Eller Ethics Case Competition in Arizona and the McCombs International Business Challenge in Texas. Appreciative Inquiry in Nepal David Cooperrider, PhD, and South African Chief Justice Albie Sachs, architect of South Africa's constitution, collaborated with Nepal's President and Constitutional Assembly to advance the vision of a new Nepal at the fourth World Conference on Appreciate Inquiry.
