Posted 10/09/2009

Experts from the UN, Fairmount Minerals, Symantec, Monsanto, Novo Nordisk, Notre Dame, CalPERS, Calvert, and Oxfam addressed the Fall 2009 meeting of the UN Global Compact’s US Network: "The Boardroom Imperative: Redefining Corporate Governance in the 21st Century."

The session was held October 19 in San Francisco, California, a leading region in CSR best practices, and was sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers. The event explored the importance of Boards “switching-on” to the CSR agenda, while surveying how leading companies organize their Board’s CSR structures and approaches.

The US Network of the UNGC hosts two meetings annually for those wishing to explore pressing issue related to the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact. The Fowler Center for Sustainable Value at the Weatherhead School of Management serves at the Secretariat of the US Network and helps plan these meetings.
