Class of 1965

Retired Senior Electrical Engineer of M K Ferguson Company, Henry Frank, MBA passed away in August, 2012.

Class of 1985
Federal Reserve Banks’ Financial Service Policy Committee (FSPC) Support Office, which works out of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, appointed Terrance (Terry) Roth to Senior Vice President.

Roth brings 39 years of experience to his new role, including three years in the Financial Services Policy Committee Support Office, nine years in the Federal Reserve System's Retail Payments Office, and the balance of his career in the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland's Marketing, Quality, Check, and Data Systems Support departments. Roth was named assistant vice president in 1989 and vice president in 1997. He was instrumental in designing the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland's payments products and pricing strategies and in developing the Federal Reserve System's Check 21 product portfolio.

Christopher A. Coughlin
, MBA was appointed Group President, Mobile & Process Industry of The Timken Co.

Greg Maluch, MBA was appointed Erie Shores Market President at FirstMerit Bank.

EMBA graduate Jeffrey Ponsky, MD has taken on a new role as the Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. An accomplished alumnus, surgeon and teacher, Dr. Ponsky will serve to broaden and strengthen relationships with alumni of the Medical School and develop opportunities to engage its global network of alumni as advocates, partners and philanthropic supporters. 

Class of 1992
Mark Froimson
, MD, EMBA, Quality Review Officer for the Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic Institute of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, has been elected to the board of the Arthritis Foundation’s Northeast Ohio Chapter.

Dawn Minotas Gainer, who specializes in accounting for small businesses and income tax preparation for small businesses and individuals, started her own fir m called Minotas Financial Solutions.

Class of 1993
Deborah Miller was appointed as Senior Advancement Officer at Baldwin Wallace University. Prior to this position, Miller was Director of Development at Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center for seven years.

Class of 1994
Safeguard Properties named Sandy Opacich, MBA '04, vice president of human capital. Opacich is stepping into a newly created executive position, where she will handle talent acquisition, employee development, compensation, benefits and general human resources.

Opacich previously served Medical Mutual in Cleveland as director of human resources services and brings extensive experience from her time at LakeWest Group, where she served as executive vice president of human resources.

Class of 1995
Ted Evans, MBA '95,  was elected secretary of the Board of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Northern Ohio Chapter. In addition, he was recently elected to the board of the Cleveland Zoological Society and to the board of Rainbows for All Children in Chicago.  Evans is Director of Business Development at Newry Corp.

Michael Barnes
, EDM has been named founding Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Tan Tao University, Vietnam.

Class of 1998
David Bouffard, EMBA was promoted to Vice President, Public Relations at Sterling Jewelers, Inc.

Class of 2001
Rose Abood, MBA was named Director of Marketing and Communications at Tucker Ellis.

Richard Simon, MBA was appointed Manager, Assurance Services for Schlabig & Associates LTD, a professional accounting firm.

Class of 2002 
Innovia Films announced Dan Galovic, MBA as a new addition to lead its Americas Labels Team.

Michael Brink, MBA was appointed to President of the Board of Trustees for the HELP Foundation, Inc., a non-profit social services agency that assists individuals with mental retardation and development disabilities in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Summit counties. Michael is Counsel in the Cleveland office of Tucker Ellis LLP.

Brent M. Pietrafese
, partner at Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, was appointed Co-Chair, Board of PlayhouseSquare Partners.

Dr. Patricia J. Mintz, DM '03, is the first editor of Leading Nonprofit Organizations (LNO), an online practitioner newsletter that serves a “how to” and “how to better” function for practicing leaders of nonprofits. LNO focuses on how to best lead nonprofits, and offers articles by DMs, PhDs, Master of Nonprofit (MNOs), Executive Directors of nonprofit organizations, as well as people in all areas of the nonprofit sector who are interested in an opportunity to communicate with their colleagues about leadership issues they deal with. LNO looks forward to a dynamic exchange of knowledge and expertise to address today’s challenges in the nonprofit sector. Subscribe to LNO.

As a practitioner-scholar, Dr. Mintz continues to engage in professional relationships with graduate students, faculty and alumni as a member of the DM Nonprofit Research Affinity Group.  She is the principal strategic adviser for PJM & Associates and serves as a volunteer board member for three nonprofit organizations.

EMBA graduate Aram Nerpouni has been named Interim President of BioEnterprise.

Class of 2007
Susan Pho Burnoski
, MSACC was appointed Audit Manager for Apple Growth Partners.

Jason Bogniard, MBA has been named Shareholder Principal of Apple Growth Partners, an accounting and business advisory firm in northeast Ohio.

Class of 2008
Perry Stuckey
, III, MPOD, currently vice president, global human resources for Eastman Chemical Company, will become senior vice president, chief human resources officer.

Class of 2009
Western Reserve Partners LLC appointed Tom Creegan, MSACC as Associate.

Class of 2010
MACC graduate Jill Malone has been named Customer Service Representative at Paytime Payroll Processing, a professional payroll service company.

Class of 2012
Dawn Ellen Meyer, MSASS was named Vice President of Neighborhood Alliance.
