Interactive marketing agency to collaborate in business school class; offering is first such partnership at Weatherhead

 CLEVELAND – Rosetta, a leading Princeton, NJ-based interactive marketing firm, is joining forces with the Weatherhead School of Management to offer an innovative course in marketing analytics aimed at undergraduates. The course was piloted in 2011 and was well received; several students from the pilot course found job placement in analytics, including at Rosetta. The course will be on offer to all undergraduates during the coming fall semester.

 “What we call analytics-driven insights or business intelligence is increasingly critical for business competitiveness across many industries,” says Jagdip Singh, PhD, AT&T Professor of Marketing and Policy Studies. “Furthermore, nationwide demand for graduates with capabilities in this area far outstrips current supply.”

The Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that employment opportunities in the area of management analytics will increase by 24% over the next decade. Weatherhead and Rosetta, which has a significant Cleveland presence, have partnered to meet this demand, bringing together the rigorous theoretical analysis for which Case Western Reserve is known with a leading firm’s up-to-the-minute knowledge of current industry practice.

Dr. Singh, who has worked closely with Rosetta to coordinate the course’s development, outlines three objectives for the course:

  • Enrich student learning by connecting analytical theory with real-world problem solving
  • Build skills for analytics-driven insights that are relevant for tomorrow’s marketplace
  • Create an energizing student experience by pioneering a distinctive model of academic-industry collaboration
