Manage by Designing project wins CORE77 design award

A design project conducted by Weatherhead students for Cleveland Clinic was named the Runner-up in the 2012 Core77 Design Awards. Core77 is a leading magazine and global gathering point for designers, students, and enthusiasts, and selects design projects from products to services and beyond for its prestigious annual awards. Kipum Lee, a PhD candidate in Weatherhead’s Information Systems Department, led the winning project with MBA colleagues in last year’s Design in Management: Concepts and Practices (MIDS 420) capstone course.

Professor Laszlo delivered keynote at Chilean Conference

On July 4th, 2012 Professor Chris Laszlo gave a keynote, along with Peter Senge, PhD, director of the Center for Organizational Learning at the MIT Sloan School of Management, at the recent Seminarium Congreso in Chile. See seminar details here: http://www.seminarium.com/cl/eventos/in/ Over 200 business executives and thought leaders were present. During his trip, Professor Laszlo also met individually with Chilean business leaders including the CEO of the country’s largest company, Codelco. Thanks to Weatherhead student Ignacio Pavez, a Chilean national currently doing his PhD in the OB Dept., a relationship with the University of Chile was established with a view to establishing a link with the Fowler Center. Ignacio helped organize a workshop at the University led by Professor Laszlo on the topic of sustainability for competitive advantage.
