The American Institute of CPAs named Gary Previts, PhD, Distinguished University Professor, E. Mandell de Windt Professor in Enterprise and Leadership Development, and Chair and Professor of Accountancy, among “125 People of Impact in Accounting” in a special 125-year anniversary issue of the Journal of Accountancy. The article celebrates a select group of professionals and educators who have made “a profound impact” on the profession, and includes only two other academics who are still active in the field. Dr. Previts’ co-authorship of the seminal A History of Accountancy in the United States is mentioned in the article among his many significant accomplishments.
