Weatherhead Community:

The energy at the Weatherhead School is invigorating as we continue our new academic year.

Choosing a graduate program is an important decision, and with eighteen degree-seeking programs - including specialized masters programs in accounting, finance, supply chain, and organizational behavior - we have a variety of opportunities for those seeking to further their education. Our admissions staff recruit for these programs throughout the year at various events. Currently, they are introducing the Weatherhead School to prospective candidates at the MBA World Tour events, where next stops include: San Francisco, New Delhi and Tokyo.

I am pleased to announce our first school-wide Weatherhead Open House is scheduled for the morning of Saturday, November 17, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., when visitors can learn more about what the School has to offer. Julia Grant, Ph.D. and I will make a brief presentation at 9:00 a.m. and then faculty, staff, and current students will be on hand at this event to introduce prospective students to our degree and executive education programs. Please join us, and also extend the invitation to someone you know who might have an interest in attending graduate school. The greatest compliment you can pay us is to refer a prospective student.

Throughout this newsletter you will read about upcoming events and activities. Be sure to visit the Weatherhead Calendar for event details. I wanted to highlight some other news for you:

  • Professor Ron Fry has assumed the position of faculty director for the EMBA program and will continue his service as chair of the organizational behavior department.
  • Michael Devlin has joined the school as our new associate dean of executive education. Devlin is a 1993 graduate of the Weatherhead School and returns to us after a successful career at Invacare Corporation and in higher education.
  • The Economist Intelligence Unit released its 2007 rankings of full-time MBA programs this week. The Weatherhead School ranked among the top 100 schools world-wide.

And, whether you are able to attend the open house or not, do stop in when you’re in our neighborhood.

With warm regards,

Mohan
