In today’s complex health care organizations, leaders are charged with igniting the positive emotions of their people and countering unproductive spirals. In this program, participants learn the concept of emotional intelligence (EI), its component competencies, and how to use EI to stimulate outstanding performance in health care settings. The class also offers techniques for leaders serving as coaches to help others develop EI competencies.

Barcelona & Modernity: Picasso, Gaudí, Miró, Dalí will be on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art October 15, 2006 – January 7, 2007. Jointly organized by the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, in association with the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, this is the first exhibition in North America to examine a remarkable 71-year period (1868–1939) when Barcelona transformed itself from a city of provincial culture into one of Europe’s most dynamic centers of modernist art and architecture.

Thirteen Weatherhead MBA students divided among three teams are competing to be the world’s “Most Innovative MBA Team” at the upcoming 4th Annual Innovation Challenge. Hosted this year by the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, the 2006 Innovation Challenge pits 441 teams from top MBA schools against each other as teams develop solutions for real-world business challenges faced by global companies.
