She was so intrigued that her interview developed into a full-fledged video of the Shaktii women and the villagers they service.

As part of Fair Trade Month, B·A·W·B partnered with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, International Paper, and Net Impact to host a taste test for a new line of biodegradable products in development at International Paper. The event, held at the Key Café in the Peter B. Lewis building, drew an exceptionally large crowd.

Supporting Fair Trade month, Net Impact hosted an October 6th presentation featuring keynote speaker, Jovanny Coronel, a farmer from Ecuador. Mr. Coronel is the Treasureer of the Asociacion de Perquenos Productores Bananeros “El Guabo,” a 350-member association of small-scale banana producers in southern Ecuador.

Eight hundred people gathered on October 6th in the exhibition hall of the Federation of Industry for the State of Parana (F.I.E.P.) in Brazil for the third B·A·W·B -- Brazil conference. This year the conference broadened beyond the state of Parana to include all of Brazil. F.I.E.P. president Rodrigo Loures, opened the conference and introduced Judy Rodgers, Executive Director of The Center for B·A·W·B. F.I.E.P. is the oldest B·A·W·B partner, beginning in the pilot period of the World Inquiry in 2002. This year, over 150 stories of business-and-society innovation poured in from all over Brazil.

Curitiba, Brazil, the capital of the state of Parana in Southern Brazil, will once again host the annual B·A·W·B conference, October 5-7, 2005. This third annual conference is entitled "Partnerships for Regional, Federal and Global Development". B·A·W·B Brazil's 3rd annual conference has big footsteps to follow coming in the wake of two very successful prior annual conference events.
