Weatherhead's Department of Marketing and Policy Studies (MAPS) is comprised of four divisions: Entrepreneurship, Labor and Human Resource Policy, Marketing, and Management Policy.

 

Interdepartmental Research Seminar


From Professors Diana Bilimoria, Fred Collopy, David Kolb and Jagdip Singh:

The Information Systems, Marketing & Policy Studies, and Organizational Behavior departmental faculty are pleased to announce an interdepartmental seminar series that is focused on a common theme of broad relevance to Weatherhead School faculty and students.  The theme for 2007-2008 academic year is  "Learning and Knowledge."  

ACESWe will be inviting leading and emerging scholars who have contributed to the identified research theme and represent diverse perspectives.  In addition, Weatherhead faculty with ongoing projects in the area will also present their work.

The time is 10:30-12:15 p.m. and the location will be PBL 118.   

The seminar series is partly funded by the NSF-ACES award.

Design Research in Management: Overview of a Weatherhead Initiative

Professors of Information Systems, Richard Boland and Fred Collopy, will present some examples of design research in information systems, which will include a discussion of designing two visual thinking environments and the results of testing them in lab experiments.  In addition, they will present Boland, Yoo and Lyytinen’s current NSF grant on “distributed innovation” in architecture, engineering and construction, as well as the larger theoretical framework behind these design research studies.
