Laptop Use

Students in Weatherhead's full-time MBA program are required to have network-ready laptop computers. Because it is a required part of the MBA course of study, the cost of a laptop may be included in a student's financial aid budget.

Although no other degree program requires that students have laptop computers, some strongly suggest it. Weatherhead faculty have incorporated computer-based exercises into the curriculum for years -- now, many are using computers to enhance classroom lectures and other in-class activities.   Most faculty will encourage use of laptops in class for note taking, file access, presentations, etc.

In recognition of the increasing use of laptops by Weatherhead students, ITG and the Weatherhead School are committed to providing assistance and support for students' laptops as follows:

  • Switched gigabit Ethernet connections in all Peter B. Lewis Building classrooms, offices, study areas, meeting rooms, seminar rooms and other common areas, and
  • Pervasive wireless network access points in PBL, Dively and Wolstein Hall.
