Dr. Karen Braun has been a certified public accountant since 1985. She gained public accounting experience while working at Arthur Andersen & Co. and accumulated additional business and management accounting experience as a corporate controller. Dr. Braun has been teaching accounting since 1996, drawing on her past experiences to relate theoretical concepts to their real-world significance.
Interests
Teaching
My primary teaching interest is the field of managerial accounting. My interest stems from prior work experiences as an auditor and as a corporate controller.
Research
My primary research interest focuses on lean operations and sustainability, critically examining how accounting systems can define, measure and communicate information that will help companies generate value for all stakeholders in a sustainable manner.
