Transforming Conflict: Creating Productive Dialogue
Formerly “Leveraging Conflict as a Catalyst for Growth"
Conflict is an inevitable aspect of professional and personal life. Indeed, it is natural to all relationships and group dynamics. While we often fear its negativity, it can also be a catalyst for creativity, growth and change. The successful leader learns to leverage conflict as an opportunity for open and honest discourse to raise and address issues, validate team members’ contributions, and promote a culture of understanding. In order to turn conflict into productive dialogue, conflict needs to be understood, embraced and resolved. After all, getting the most out of a diverse team means working through contradictory values, perspectives and opinions in order to reach common goals.
In this highly interactive, skill-based workshop, participants will learn how to respond in various situations of conflict, and develop strategies to minimize the negative impacts of conflict while maximizing its creative possibilities. Participants will learn and practice real-world behaviors that promote a climate of resolution and strengthen positive relationships while keeping energy focused on the agreed upon objectives. They will learn to make conflict work for them, and for the success of the organization.
