Women face exciting leadership opportunities and challenges in today’s healthcare field.  This program is designed to increase women’s skills, knowledge, and confidence in leading and managing in complex health care organizations.  We will address questions such as: What are the valued attributes and behaviors of women leaders in healthcare?  What are the differences between management and leadership?  How can managerial and professional women in healthcare successfully enhance their leadership impact and contributions, forge new inroads, and dispel stereotypes? How can women lead with integrity in their healthcare organizations?

The goal of the program is to help participants understand the leadership and managerial issues surrounding women in healthcare organizations, and to assist them in recognizing and enhancing their unique leadership skills and competencies.  This highly interactive program includes leadership assessment, group discussion, skill development, and networking.

• Defining leadership that makes a difference in healthcare
• Understanding how one is currently perceived as a leader
• The unique and complex expectations of and skill requirements for women leaders in healthcare
• Leadership vision, values, and styles
• How to use leadership and power with integrity
• How outstanding women lead and techniques they use to make a difference in healthcare
  

Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this class, participants will:

• Gain insights about the effective leadership of healthcare organizations
• Identify their own unique leadership skills
• Develop a clearer picture of their leadership vision for the future
• Identify specific strategies to enhance their leadership contributions

Who Should Attend
Women healthcare and bioscience professionals in all disciplines, e.g., nurses, physicians, nutritionists, pharmacists, researchers, managers, scientists, health care educators, etc., and at all levels, e.g., entry, middle and senior from all sectors of the healthcare industry.
