Weatherhead Family Business Speaker Series

Sponsored by: Weatherhead Student Services

Speaker(s): Andrew Connors and Emily Shacklett

Date & Time: Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Understanding how to align the activities that allow for success as a family as well as a business is a challenge unique to family business owners.   A business strategy that incorporates both the personal and financial needs of the family and strategic goals of the business is a dynamic process, requiring delicate balance, communication and collaboration among all stakeholders particularly  during leadership and ownership transitions.  Andrew Connors and Emily Shacklett will lead a discussion about lessons learned and best practices as well as key strategies that lead to successful outcomes for the business and personal satisfaction for the family.  They will use actual case studies to better illustrate the strategies that are discussed.

Andrew Connors and Emily Shacklett are both advisors in the business owner practice group at Fairport Asset Management.   Fairport provides holistic,  comprehensive and thoughtful financial counsel  to many of Northeast Ohio’s most successful family business owners.  The firm’s professional staff includes CPAs, CFP certificants and CFA charter holders and is known for its offering of  specialized services for succession and liquidity planning for business owners.  In addition, Fairport was recently recognized by Investment News magazine as one of the Top 30 registered financial planning firms in the United States.  More information available at www.fairportasset.com.

Join us for networking and light refreshments prior to the event beginning at 6:00pm.  Presentation will take place from 6:30pm-8:00pm
