The recent economic crisis has shaken confidence in established investment ideologies.  The emergence of the impact investing, social business and social entrepreneurship industries provide a compelling alternative, by offering to imbue investment with social purpose and, ultimately, to increase the scope of solutions to social problems that continue to proliferate even as philanthropy resources dwindle.  These industries have the potential to complement philanthropy and government intervention as a potent force for addressing global challenges at scale.

This twice yearly gathering of the UNGC US Network will explore these topics with speakers and panelists who are actively shaping this space.  All UN Global Compact members should find this event highly relevant and informative.  The symposium will feature a range of experts from organizations involved in impact investing and social business.
