James Gaskin
James is fascinated by the way individuals use technology, why they use it the way they do, and what effect playfulness, exploration, and appropriation have on individual effectiveness with technology. He is also determined to see what cognitive benefits can be gained through practicing elementary game design activities. He holds a BS is in Information Systems and an MISM from Brigham Young University.
Sean Hansen
After a decade of professional work in management and technology consulting, Sean decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Information Systems, so that he could explore the ideas that interest him in greater depth. Sean is currently enhancing his understanding of foundational concepts and fundamental research methods, while refining his longer term research interests. A native Clevelander, he has an A.B. in Psychology from Harvard University and an MBA from the Weatherhead School.
Yusun Jung
Yusun graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in Information Design and Technology. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and another Master of Art in Mass Communication, specialty in Organizational Communication and Mass Communication.
Her fundamental questions start from the relationship between new media, human, organization, and society through communication interface and context. She is interested in narrowing the distance between users and media or system, minimizing the distortion of communication, and maximizing the user participation via transparent interface. This topic includes issues of usability, HCI, interface design, narrative, and metaphor and so on. Currently, she is digging implementation of organization into virtual reality.
Pankaj Nagpal
He is interested in business, technology and their organizational linkages. His earlier work has been in manufacturing and research/consulting firms. He has worked with manufacturing firms like United Technologies and IS Groups in Barnes & Noble, and Fidelity Investments. Pankaj completed an MS in Information Systems, from Boston University.
Jae Hyun Park
Jae Hyun Park has conducted diverse projects on interdisciplinary teams as a designer, interaction designer, or information architecture. He is now conducting the values between design and business with diverse methods and frameworks. He completed a Masters Degree in Human-Centered Communication Design & Planning from the Institute of Design (2005~2007) Illinois Institute of Technology.
Nikhil Srinivasan
Nikhil is currently involved in two projects, one that focuses on emerging technologies in the software development process and the other examines the emergence/popularity of blogs and the social networks behind them.
In Syracuse, he pursued a Masters in Telecommunications and Network Management at the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. he also spent two years as part of the Masters in International Relations program to familiarize himself with accounting, political science and economic theories to prepare for his doctoral work.
