MS-Finance students at Weatherhead round out their degree with an intensive, project-based capstone course that means working on real problems with real clients and plenty of hands-on coaching from faculty.

Peter Ritchken, PhD, Kenneth Walter Haber Professor of Banking and Finance, is Faculty Director of the MS-Finance and teaches the capstone class Projects in Risk Management. Scott Fine, Professor of Banking and Finance, teaches the Projects in Corporate Finance version of the capstone.

Bridging Analytics with the Real World

The two professors come at the class from different directions arising out of different backgrounds, but they both agree that the capstone class represents “a bridge between what our students have learned in class and what happens in the real world. Choosing from among their analytical tools and then applying them to the problem at hand integrates their knowledge with concrete experiences,” says Fine.
