Prerequisites
The Master of Accountancy builds upon the skills and knowledge developed through an undergraduate accounting degree.
All admitted candidates must have completed the following prerequisite courses (or equivalents at a four-year accredited institution) prior to receiving the MAcc degree.
GENERAL BUSINESS PREREQUISITES
- Corporate Finance
- Operations Management
- Marketing
- Principles of Economics
- Statistics
ACCOUNTANCY PREREQUISITES
- Principles I and II (must include a semester of managerial accounting)
- Intermediate Financial Reporting I and II
- Advanced Financial Reporting*
- Auditing
- U.S. Taxation
*The financial reporting sequence must include at least one three-hour upper level U.S. financial reporting course taken at an accredited four-year educational institution.
Please Note:
- Students may be admitted to the MAcc program without an undergraduate degree in accounting, but all prerequisites must be completed before the MAcc degree can be granted.
- Students may be admitted to the MAcc program without having completed all of the prerequisites, as these courses may be completed concurrently with the MAcc courses.
