A minimum of 12 courses (36 credit hours) is required to earn the Weatherhead MAcc degree. The curriculum includes accountancy core and elective courses as well as supporting electives that allow students to develop breadth and diversity of knowledge and skills.

Accountancy Elective Courses (6 credit hours)

Students may choose any 2 courses (6 credit hours) from among the graduate accountancy courses offered at Weatherhead, exclusive of the MBA core courses. A concentration within accountancy is not required, although students may choose to develop a concentration in Reporting and Assurance Services or U.S. Taxation.

Supporting Elective Courses (18 credit hours)

Supporting graduate elective courses allows MAcc students to develop a background in areas that complement and support a professional accountancy career. MAcc students select supporting elective courses in consultation with the graduate program advisor.

Supporting graduate elective courses must be selected from at least two areas of study other than accountancy, exclusive of the MBA core and prerequisite level courses.

No more than one course (3 credit hours) in accountancy may be taken to fulfill the supporting elective requirement.
