We are a name.
Case Western Reserve University is a comprehensive academic institution and premier research university. Its history is rife with programs of crossdisciplinary collaboration leading to groundbreaking discoveries across academic fields. The Weatherhead School of Management, named in honor of the Weatherhead family, is a further example of this through its commitment to offer the very best in management education born from our internal challenge to explore and implement leading-edge management theory.
We are an icon.
The distinctive look of our Frank Gehry-designed home, the Peter B. Lewis Building, reflects Weatherhead’s philosophy that business education must go beyond the ordinary to produce graduates who are prepared to tackle 21st century management issues.
We are people.
1,413 students, 72 full-time faculty, and 74 full-time staff members working together create an environment that is collaborative, progressive, and open-minded.
We are innovation.
Since the School awarded the region’s first business degree in 1930, Weatherhead’s spirit of innovation has been the driving force in elevating our programs to national prominence. Among these advances are the nation’s first Ph.D. programs in both Organizational Behavior and Operations Research.
Weatherhead was also the first to create Appreciative Inquiry and use it as a strength-based approach to organizational development, social entrepreneurship, and regional economic development. Most recently, we are making news for spearheading Manage by Designing, a concept which fully incorporates design thinking, skills, and experiences into our 2-year, full-time MBA curriculum.
